These are the funerals for Latter-day Saint families at Bridgeside, with every step in order and the words they use. The host can change or leave out any of them.

A family gathering to remember

An informal family gathering for Latter-day Saint households, in a simple order of hymn, prayer, reading, remarks, hymn and prayer. It isn't a Church meeting or an official rite of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it includes no priesthood ordinance or blessing. About 10 to 15 minutes.

The order of steps

  1. Opening hymnWelcome everyone. It doesn't matter how long ago your pet passed. It's never too late for this. Start with a hymn your family loves, like "All Creatures of Our God and King."
  2. Opening prayerA family member offers a short prayer in their own words.
  3. Psalm 36:6 and Psalm 145:9Ask a family member to read. This is the King James Version. You can choose another passage.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
